July 19, 2025 A Lucky Day

ree

We were planning to go to Mossy Rock Dam near Mount Rainier this Saturday, but I saw a tweet from a weatherman that I respect and love that showed the following post on Thursday. Granted the last time Mount Rainier had this many earth rumblings was in 2009 which was a bigger year for me also, (my humor). I didn't want to insist on something if my hubby was feeling a little under the weather for some reason. Stories of tragedy follow with stories of people who missed tragic occurrences because of minor schedule set backs; traffic, they forgot something at home, or they were ill that day and missed a future fate that was in their possible destiny. My husband has been desiring to go to Mossy Rock Dam for a few weeks now and didn't feel like it this morning and particularly after this post I saw on Thursday. I am old enough to remember Mount Saint Helens when it erupted and I do have a great respect for our mountains in the Pacific Northwest. Things like this remind me of different times in my life where I was "lucky" or is it that it just wasn't my time. We were on a plane in New Mexico visiting my hubby's ill father this past year and they were revving the engines up to take off and an engine blew out while we were on the runway. It happened before we took off on the runway. It ended up we had to spend an extra night in New Mexico. Not our cup of tea but a much better option than the obvious. I was in Mississippi years ago and a small plane I was on lost one engine while in flight. We landed safely anyway. My husband was working in Downtown Seattle at night several years ago where there was a shooting and he was protected by the heavens. My life doesn't have a ton of these occurrences but they are occurrences and I respect the greater heavens for keeping us safe. My husband and I say a prayer every morning for ourselves, for our friends and for our families, as we go out in the world that the heavens will provide a bubble of protection around all of us and that they will keep us all safe. We can do something differently this week. I can do some homework and we can do a small outing somewhere instead. Thank you.
