June 1st Day of Meteorological Summer

It is truly the first day of meteorological summer when all the leaves have grown in outside of our balcony. Soon we will make our way to the coast where we will put our toes in the sand, take video of our small towns there and enjoy champagne breakfasts and wonderful seafood. It will be different this year. I've had my one year anniversary planning and pursuing an additional degree in meteorology and a return to camera and video work all inspired by some very lovely people across the country in the wee morning hours on a channel devoted to weather.

Inspiration can come in many forms and sometimes our souls and spirits need to be quiet enough to hear it. I call groundhog day my year anniversary. You can laugh now. Being someone who loves to hide in my world, but who also loves nature and the wonder of weather. I recall being out in the pouring rain in the South when I lived there going to school and getting drenched from the rain, looking up in the sky with a smile and my eyes closed and I didn't know why but I loved the feeling of the wind and rain all around me and how warm it was, to find out later I was standing in the middle of a storm where there was tornadoes. Someone from the Pacific Northwest doesn't know what deliciously warm rain means in the South. Sensing the warm winds and feeling them on my face and learning when I felt them it meant storms were near. Sitting in a little cafe looking out the windows on my own and a lightening bolt coming down from way up in the sky down to the ground with a thunderous sound. These are my memories of the warm and wonderful weather of the South. Very different than the calm and enclosed mountain and valley ranges of the Pacific Northwest. I love both of them. I am safe in the volcanic mountains here and I was safe in the warm winds of the South. Weather was a feeling I experienced. I didn't really have words for it. I had music that made me think of weather and my feelings.

And now I am here pursuing yet another degree, but in meteorology this time. I hope this finds you well and you enjoy the videos on this site. I don't know what videos will show up as it is a site for creation and the story in it is unfolding as the time passes. I hope you enjoy it as much as I have enjoyed creating in it with others. Thank you.
