January 16, 2026 A Goofy Moment In Time

This is a goofy moment with us. I’ve been taking a little time away to do some sleeping this past week. It seemed like I couldn’t get enough while working full time this week, so that is all I did when I wasn’t working. We’re going to take a couple days away just for R&R. Of course, we’ll video and take photos. I understood from some recent reports that Washington state is in the middle of its cold and flu season. I have not caught anything but have been sleeping a lot so I figured I may have been fighting it off.

I’m waiting to hear back from WW from the insurance on a medical program. There is a two-week gap while this is processing. I am trying it and will report on my experiences.

I have been getting my homework done during the week. This instructor requires homework to be completed during the week which leaves weekends free which is nice.

I’m working on a short snow outing video for my website. It is just about driving through a bit of snow across the Snoqualmie Pass and into Eastern Washington state.

I’m going to enjoy my first quiet time of the week. I’m rereading one of Coach Micheal Burt’s books for the second time trying to thoughtfully contemplate the words that I missed the first time of reading. He’s got a lot in his books. I’m including his books in with my ancient writings that I ponder.

We visited my husband’s family in Eastern Washington last weekend and will be due to visit my 90-year-old father again in a week or so. These regular visits are our rituals and many of them are on my website dswh3336Journey.com. I know I am fortunate to have my family and father in our lives.

This is a kind of what I call my “in-between” times. It’s in-between any particular goings-on and feels like a kind of a holding pattern. A moment to catch our breath, take a rest before proceeding forward. My mind has been blank the past few days, just needing a reset and a cup of coffee. I hope this finds you well. Thank you.
