This is how my morning started. We have a creek under our balcony, and this was our first area's flood to see how we faired, and our little creek got fuller, but we learned the water did not come off any of our mountains, only our hill in which we live on. We only had to venture from our safety for our work so far only. I’ve been experiencing extra stress during our logistics work.
Most customers have had understanding and compassion for our drivers with only a couple who didn’t have comprehension of catastrophic flooding where the Governor declared a state of emergency and called the national guard in and the dangers that are out there. Yes, there are a couple of those that don’t understand. I had to break it down and explain it to them.
Luckily the people I spend a majority of my time with try to put themselves in other people’s shoes and are compassionate in addition to being logical. My family and friends have been fortunate to have survived the floods and I as well. I will need to travel near to rivers to go to my work on Monday, but I’ll remain on the higher roads.
I heard The Weather Channel was broadcasting a short distance away, but I didn’t recognize the location, or I would have found a way to go watch them work if I could. I hope they have found safety in their travels throughout.
Our prayers are with you. Thank you.
