July 28, 2026 Like Lightning Strikes Across The Sky

The video is of the beautiful moon last night in Western Washington. I couldn’t sleep last night, and I just wanted to stay awake. There is an ancient writing that says living life is like being an athlete that presses on to win a prize.

We need to press on in our heart, soul, mind, and strength to pursue these as if we are athletes in all areas. Similar to the books that Coach Micheal Burt has written, we need to challenge the heart, soul, mind, and strength for growth. For our passion, find something we can love; for our soul, find something that draws us spiritually upward; for our mind, challenge us to learn; for our strength, improve our health by what we put in our bodies and the exercise we give our bodies. This can be in any number of ways, but all the ways creates passion for life. For some of us, our lives are dependent on the motivating creation of this pursuit and for some of us this passion is created outside of ourselves.

Three years ago, I was brought face to face with the realization that I would need to reestablish this passion for my own life by caring for my heart, soul, mind and strength by asking questions of how I could passionately challenge all those areas to grow. It wasn’t easy and I’m still working on it. I’m training in all areas. The training isn’t perfect, but I am challenging myself in all areas daily and when goals are achieved, I will need to readdress what goals I will need to challenge myself in again.

Some of my personal goals include for my strength, I’m pursuing medical weight loss, and I started spending time at the gym with my husband. I’m proud to say I lift 50 lbs. regularly for the purpose of being able to carry heavy video production equipment. Goals for my mind, I have a long-term goal to complete a meteorological degree, and I challenge myself with books from great thinkers historically and present day. Goals of the heart, asking myself where my passions lie in my profession and pursuing them and asking myself hard questions about my relationships. I’m a naturally shy person, creating relationships is a thoughtful effort for me. Goals of the soul and spirit, allowing time to nurture relationships in the spiritual world, reading, meditating and asking questions of myself and listening to the heavens and the power that come from them.

Like lighting a candle, this needs to be ignited daily; like lightning needs to flash across the sky, life needs to begin anew daily. I started spending my day with some kind of meditation so that I can find my ignition, my lightning strike, and my power source to life. There are days I need a nap for energy or real overnight sleep, but once I’m rested, I need to find that life source for the day, the week, the year.

Where do you find your life source? How do you challenge yourself to grow?

I hope this finds you well. Thank you. 🙏
