December 2, 2025 The Night Light

Where is the moon? I’ve been looking for it for days. What other lights in your life do you look for? In each room in my home that you walk into there is at least a nightlight plugged in. This is a result of my Dad’s thoughtfulness. It started when I returned from the Southeastern United States. While I was staying with them, I mentioned that the canvas of pitch black to me provided too much opportunity to see things that weren’t there with my imagination, so then nightlights appeared. Someone that cared about what I would see in my imagination was so thoughtful to create peacefulness for me in a nightlight. I call that love. 

This morning I’m working the early shift so I will be working from home. Our warehouse is near a part of town that can be some place a person needs to be wary in the night sky and it was the kindness of my boss that I could work from home when I covered the early shifts. 

I love the early morning night sky because I can be safe in my home drinking coffee and snuggled in my blanket with my feet up in my cosy chair in my office where I read inspirational writings and I write. My nightlights come from people who touch my life for reasons I may or may not know; they just do; my nightlights come from the moon and stars; and my nightlights come from the thoughtful love of my Dad.
